As you may have noticed, JR was down for a period of 4 hours (hehe I said period). But anyway, on a more serious note...
What has been updated?!
JR's Forum has been updated to the latest version of IPB which fixed some minor bugs back-end and front-end. It has helped us mod the forums easier as there has been slight changes to the mod system that we use, which is called a hook system.
Why did JR have to be pulled down for the update?!
This was done to stop data corruption.
Why so long for the update?
During the update, we had to also manually edit the files to encode for the mod which allowed colored user-names around the forum. This was most time-consuming during the process.
What else is still need to be sorted out after the update?
During the update, we have seemed to break the Facebook box on the sidebar of the forum and the points system has gone offline momentarily- this will be fixed soon. We are working on the issue and it should be finished soon.
I have heard that the point system JR uses will change?
Yes, this is correct. We will be switching to a more powerful points system that allows us to do a lot more, before having a shop back. We will not be repairing the current mod- we will be manually taking down how much points everyone on the forum has, then we will put them onto the new system. Our ETA for this is 1 day.
The Staff page is acting up?
We know, we broke it!
We will sort this as soon as the rest of the forum is back. I blame k3v_o though!! Actually it wasn't k3v_o... Darn mr.muscle lost it when he added in his..... (mutters 'idiot')
Small bugs on the new topic page?
Some people have noticed them, others haven't yes there are small bugs. I'm working on fixing it.
Edit: This has been fixed.
Please remain patient if the forums go down or have temporary bugs, as we are busy resolving some other issues.
