Why can't everyone just be happy? That question is asked often and I realized why, if everyone was happy, we'd all be dead. As if everyone's thoughts that they think will make them happy, well we all think life would be better without something/someone so it'd just start chaos, so just be happy with what you do have

Sniper Elite(SE) is a World War II Tactical Shooter with a different approach, you are a sniper, you have to be methodical and patient.
The game was developed by Namco and Rebellion, it was released 27 oct 2005.

SE sets you in 1945 in the fight for the control of Berlin between Russian and German army. The NKVD (Russian secret service) is trying to steal the Atomic-Bomb technology from the Germans, but is in everyone best interest that they do not succed, this is where you get involved, you are an american sniper trained by the OSS, the best of the best, elite, disguised as a german your job is to stop the NKVD.

The single player campaign is long, it has 28 missions that include assasinations, stealing documents, rescueing allies, and shooting everyone in the head :).
Because of the length of the game, if you play safe every mission, taking your time, you will probably get bored because of the time every mission will take you.
The missions accomplish a great sense of stealth and tension, sneaking behind the enemy lines, missions are mostly great, aome are easy with separated objectives, and others have objectives that rely on your stealth and speed to accomplish an oother objective.
The only problem is that sometimes you cant figure out what to do, or how to do it, you might have to try several times before you succed.

The AI of the game is really good, the enemy will kill you often (You are not hard to kill, you are a sniper), they are smart, they never wait for you, they run, dodge, crouch, get cover, lay down, lay cover fire and pull some tricks to shot you at close range (like laying cover fire, while 2 or 3 enemies get close to you, sometimes they even shoot you from behind).
If an enemy is wounded and calling for help, the rest will run to help him and drag him into a safe area.

The shooting with the sniper rifle is a great experience, challenging. The gravity, the wind, even your breathing affects the shot. If you get a long range head shot or instant kill, the game will show you a dramatica slow motion camera, that shows the bullet leaving your gun, flying through the air and taking a chunk out of your enemy head, you will see brain and skull fragments blowing out of his head.
Sometimes enemies carry TNT in their backpacks, if you manage to shot it, him and everyone around will blow up.
You also have TNT(that you can throw and then shoot it with your rifle to blow something, like tanks), Time bombs, tripwire grenades, rocks, medikits, and more.

Graphics are average, better that in the console version, there is few textures in the game, that repeat over and over again, same char models(with hats, helmets or nothing). There is many obstacles and moving objects like papers, that make searching for a specific target a hard task.

The sound is exceptional, sets you in the middle of the war with a tense atmosphere full of airplane sounds, bombs, artillery shots, AA guns, enemies shouting at each other (they have few lines that get repeated). You can use the sound of footsteps and gunfire to locate an enemy.

Is a game for the patient gamer, with average graphics, exceptional sounds, long missions and great gameplay. If you are looking for something different you will enjoy it. I like it :P (8/10)
