Our community blogs
I don't get time to write, but I thought that a few of the topics I will write here deserve a blog article instead of a quick forum post and it's not really JR News material. This could be a rant, this could be a wall of text, but hell, I hope this is an interesting read for people who take the time to read through it.
I've been asked recently and for a few years, why keep JR running, why waste the money, why is it so important?
I hope your sitting comfortably.... because this maybe a long post.....
Money is material, I do need it, at this moment in time I seriously do need money, but if I gave up JR I'd save a ton of money but all my efforts would be for nothing. People spend thousands on their hobbies people restore and modify cars, invent new things, drink, smoke, collect unnecessary things and more.
JR is that thing to me, I spend a lot on it yes but I don't do much else.
While I spend a lot on it if we dig down there are many reasons why I keep JR running.
This may sound weird to many of you but I keep JR running to keep a smile on peoples faces, gaming for many people is a great get away, so is the internet. I have a dark side, just like anyone else. I got bullied from a young age and when I mean bullied I mean bullied. I got hit, kicked, mentally abused and it has left a imprint in my head. People need a get away and I know for many users that use and have used the service over the past 11 or so years that this has been their getaway, their virtual home as it were.
JR is named JR due to it's original name Jamie's Rebellion. The reason for the name? Well read the paragraph above. I was rebelling against everything that was happening to me at the time.
Either way Jamie's Rebellion was my getaway, it was the one thing I could say was mine,
JR has brought many challenges to the table and has helped me to grow the way I am now. I have learnt to code from JR, I have learnt to run servers, I have learn't how to listen to people, their problems and I have learnt to accept peoples opinions and work with them to make me and my site a better place. I always ask for feedback now as while JR is mine, I believe it's the communities as well.
JR has also brought many relationships to the table. Without realising it there has been in the past members and staff getting together, some who actually live with each other. Not that I condone ever meeting up with anyone on JR or online due to reasons that are coming to light more and more in todays society it's been amazing to see actually relationships that have forged through JR. If JR was not here, would they have ever got together ? I don't know.
JR also brings to light my creative side. I was never great at art in school in england (supposedly I can draw when I really want to), Though when you come to education I was never good in school, I was the guy who slept in every class towards the end of my school life because I was just giving up. But JR brought out something in me that really helped me to understand what I can do. Designing a website, making things work and bringing people together to get things to work, seems I'm half good at that.
JR has also brought to me many friendships that I cherish, while I don't show it half the time I actually care so much about the staff here and the people that have helped me get to where I am today.
JR at one stage got rather big (thanks minecraft), and if you look at the member count you will understand that it got big, Now unfortunately that huge memberbase doesn't have everyone active but I'm hoping that we can as a community bring more people to JR to help increase our popularity. Not that popularity is what I want from this experience, it's the fact that if we don't get more popular and get JR earning money itself I don't know how I will continue to afford to fund things. (I normally find a way though)
Getting back on topic as I feel like as I write this things are just been thrown out, I'm not re-reading this because I want this a genuine piece from my brain.
After over 11 years of time I ain't going anywhere, JR is staying, I want this to continue to help make people smile, to help people in need and I want to continue learning from this roller-coaster experience. To the previous members if you are reading this, why don't you join back and chat to me personally, I'd be really interested to find out what brought you originally to JR, what you enjoy here and to the new or current members. I'm a human being as you may have noticed. If you message me I will chat to you, if you are ever in need to ever speak to someone if you are down, message me.
My mental health is getting better and if you noticed I said earlier in this post JR was a getaway. It's not so much a getaway for me now, it's a part of my life that I am glad to have in my heart.
If you are ever suffering and you need help, remember JR is always there for you.

I know it's been a while since I've been around on JR. However, I'm currently trying to formalize a philosophy I have developed over this last year (and which I find in a lot of other places too), and I've always thought back to the JR blogs as somewhere I have spewed out brain-droppings. Therefore, I think I'll continue to use this as not only a way to get my ideas out into text, but to stay active on JR.
I decided to stick with this blog, since it's interesting to me to go back and read old posts to see how much I have changed as a person. However, for convenience, I am naming this series "Unnamed Philosophy", to distinguish the brain-droppings from me trying to write chapters about this philosophy.
I hope you all enjoy this. Remember that it is a philosophy, so it will confront everything in life, dark and light. As someone that has embraced this way of thinking, though, I do think I have a clearer view on the world around me and myself. Enjoy your read.

This blog entry is not intended to act as a guide. Installing a custom rom on your phone may lead to bricking the device. I can not be held responsible for any damages you may incur to your device if you decide to install a custom rom or root it.
Some terms I use in this post that you may not be aware of:
Knox bit - Knox is proprietary security software used by Samsung on it's devices
Kernel - This allows the operating system to communicate with the hardware, without this it wouldn't work
Recovery - A mode that allows changes to the android operating system such as factory resetting it.
Custom Recovery - An expanded version of the recovery mode that allows you to install other software and make backups of your data
Custom Rom - A custom version of android made by someone other than the official developer, usually includes tweaks to make it perform better in some way
Bootloader - This is what lets the phone boot to the operating system, all computers use a bootloader
Boot loop - The device won't enter the operating system and will just show the boot screen/animation
Media Transfer Protocol - Used so the computer can communicate with the device connected, generally used for transferring media e.g. photos & videos
First off I want to make this clear, this isn't my first rodeo when it comes to custom ROMs. I've had plenty installed over the 3 years I've owned my Nexus 4. However the issues have started to appear over the past year or so, where I have upgraded to a Galaxy S6. With my next upgrade I'll probably be reverting to a nexus device just because of how much easier they are to install custom roms onto. As a matter of fact this is all about upgrading from Android 5.1.1 to Android 6.0.1. However as I am using a Samsung device getting this to work isn't quite as easy as one might hope.
I have personally found that Samsung are quite possibly a bit OTT about what goes on with your handset. For starters you've got the Knox bit, if you trip this you've got no warranty. I'm pretty careful with my phone so I wasn't all that bothered by tripping the Knox counter. Samsung phones I personally find have a few levels of extra complexity when it comes to custom ROMs. Keep in mind I am still installing them on my nexus 4 so I do have a direct comparison in terms of a device that came from google and one which came from Samsung. The Galaxy S6 serves as my daily driver, my nexus 4 I keep in case I need a backup and I love the openness of the nexus platform. My reason for choosing the Galaxy S6 was the performance, custom roms were an afterthought. Maybe next time performance might be lower down on my priorities than custom roms, after all most flagship phones fair pretty well in terms of future proofing... at least for a couple of years.
Anyway back on topic, I had to jump through a lot of hoops to just update my phones operating system. Initially I had to flash the new kernel and modem images for android 6, sounds easy enough right? Well I flashed a stock version of the kernel & modem. Modem isn't too much of a worry, however the kernel is contained within the bootloader image. This custom rom I was trying to install requires a custom version of a custom recovery so the phone doesn't through and hissy fit and boot loop. Something I missed in the initial post by the author of this custom rom, so I spent what must have been an hour trying to sort that problem out. Turns out flicking through the last pages of the forum topic was a good idea! So that's that problem solved, should be smooth sailing from here right? Wrong!
I didn't want to boot into android at this point, as some stuff was updated for the Android 6 ecosystem, but the actual operating system I had on my phone was Android 5.1.1. I needed to boot into the custom recovery I installed to update the operating system. This bit went well, minus the fact that my laptop and desktop were failing to recognise my device, I had activated the media transfer protocol in my custom recovery to allow me to transfer files across but windows unfortunately wasn't having any of it and was kicking up errors whenever I tried to copy a file to my phone.
This lead me to the penultimate stage of sideloading it. This is a feature within the tools google provides for developers, it allows you to load a zip file onto the phone through recovery and install it. Finally what I wanted to achieve! This bit went smoothly enough, then it came to booting the phone to the operating system. This took way longer than anticipated, but I got there in the end and after a few panicky hours I finally got my phone back.
I will be making posts in the future as to what apps I personally use on a regular basis and what my homescreen is like! I hope I didn't make this post too confusing, I hope the glossary included at the top helped you understand the post.
This post can also be found on my blog: http://cgroutage.me/the-joys-of-installing-custom-roms/

It's been nearly a month since we posted our last development topic. While we haven't posted anything we have been rather busy.
- Removed old JRCash system for a new system, This will allow products to be bought from the JR store in trade for JR Cash. Unfortunately this took away JRCash from minecraft, which we are working on to bring back as well as other servers
- Tweaked mobile slightly
- Added full steam integration. This shows what games you've been playing, what you are currently playing, if you are on or offline. To use this all you have to do is login with steam.
- Added marketplace so users can trade JR Cash between themselves for virtual services or virtual goods.
- Small nav UI Changes
- Added custom images within the forum to make things a little more friendly
- Added RUST
Added Ark: Survival Evolved and added mods:
- Stackable foundations
Added JC2MP and added new mods:
- Plane Reverse
- Jobs (Drive people to locations for money)
- Join Leave messages
- Wingsuite (Double Tab shift)
- AI Traffic, (Sea, Air and Road)
- Added a gas system, when you run out of the gas the car doesn't move. There are many locations around the server to fill up (Gas stations)
- Added a bank system so you can store your money even when the server resets
- Chat bubbles, occur when you chat automatically
- Scoreboard (Press alt)
- Anti-spam and 10 minute announcement added to show users where JR is
- Added Buy panel, you can buy items from the money you earn in jobs
- Added better admin system
Social Media Changes
- Updated about page and small tweaks to facebook
- Moved to a faster better server to handle all that we host
- Tweaked VM's resource usage
- Updated all packages across all servers to latest versions
- Working on PHP 7 on main server currently but at the moment we have tested and had a catastrophic failure. Hopefully we can resolve this issue soon to bring the latest in PHP for speed, stability and security to JR soon.

I was quite distracted by JRCraft today, because I made a little minigame on the minigames server! This one's a non-profit, so it's for free (which will be the norm, don't worry). It's called "Ghost Survive", and the idea is that you're on top of a skinny tower, and ghosts (floating skeletons with creepy ghast faces, that shoot you from very far and with flaming arrows!) slowly float up towards you, and you and your friends need to fend them off as long as possible.
The game works well enough, but is in an early stage of development. I'll add a proper high-score system, a proper death system, and plenty of customised messages. For now, you just need to survive as long as you can up top the tower. To get there, you have to go through the "Franchovy minigames" hub at warhub, then click on the only minigame available. Hopefully the sign teleportation system works, if not, please let me know. I already have encountered issues when multiple people are using the signs, so I might need to search for alternatives or ways to fix it.
Be sure to check it out! I'm happy to play some short games with friends if anyone is up for it! However, I have some finals to study for now.
I'll also be adding little games like this to the minigames server in the future! They're never-seen-before games, so they could attract some attention to the server
See you all next time,
This blog post may come off as more of a criticism, but I'll do my best to make my argument clear and convincing rather than personal or something.
So ever since I logged onto JRCraft this year, I noticed something strange. I think I logged on around two months ago, a little after I re-started posting things on the forum and people started to come back. The first thing I noticed, as I entered the server, is that there were two distinct survival servers. I was quite confused, (mostly because of the super-disorganised spawn at the time), and managed my way to one of them. I started playing on the Survival server, where I made the cute house, obelisk and bulk shop. Later, as Jamie updated the hub and the servers became clearer, I realised that the Survival server was where more people were playing, so I started building there. That's the server where I built my rich-person house and where I own the one and only dragon egg that will totally make me rich. Now, Jamie has added a third survival server, called "Survive". I liked his idea, when he first proposed it, but I feel like we've strayed from our intentions.
I ask myself: What's the point of having multiple servers that all server the same purpose? If we're not trying to distribute some large amount of players, then I find it quite inconvenient. All I really want to do while playing is to hang out with friends, which is loads of fun! Much nicer than surviving on one's own. But if 3 friends are on Survive, and I'm trying to build my house in Survival, it gets bothersome. The solution around this is to make, or stick to, a server's purpose.
Jamie originally proposed the "Survive" server as a hardcore, thrilling and difficult server, where players could fight it out like true anarchists. When he first gave this idea, I imagined that there would be little-to-no build protection, stealing/looting would be allowed, no god mode or flying whatsoever, etc. I was expecting it to be a true struggle to stay alive.
Therefore, with these expectations, I was quite unhappy with the result. Obviously, things like stealing, looting and griefing would have to have strong regulations on what is allowed, and what isn't (I think a good idea would be protection allowed on regions against griefing, but not on doors or chests, so people would have to barricade their houses accordingly). Such regulations could simply be discussed based on what we want and what we can do. I'm also aware that the server isn't completely built yet, but I would request that godmode and flying be turned off as soon as possible, so that people start surviving in a truly hardcore way.
Making Distinct Servers
You might think that these conditions would make survival on the server way too hard. Worry not! The whole point of the Survive server would be for hardcore players who are ready to go all in, surviving with their clans, building locked-down, threatening castles with traps, or hidden underground bases to avoid looters and rivals. If you're not up for that, then the Survival or Classic server would be perfect for you. One of these, at least, should have keep-inventory, flying, godmode, and plenty of other goodies that people go on plugin servers to play with, rather than vanilla. I have little ideas, though, on how to make a stronger distinction between the Classic and Survival server (I think we should start by changing either "Survival" or "Survive" to something more different). Jamie proposed a skylands world, and I think making a skylands linked to Survival, for example, could be a good way to go, but there's some steps of discussions that all the staff and the community should go through before.
What's the point of the Survival and Classic servers? I know the Classic is meant to bring back a map that was many players' favourites, but is that really the best thing to do with a whole server? If the server is only there for reminiscing purposes, then I think there are better ways to go about it (like downloading the map or something through internet). "Survival", to me, seems like the type of place people go to build communities, farms, shops, and have social interactions in friendly ways. It might be better to either turn off pvp or turn on keepinventory, because both combined make for some sketchy ethical restrictions that nobody is sure of.
The Creative and Minigames are perfect examples of extremely dedicated servers. The Creative Server is one where you are in creative mode, so you can build what you want. For this reason, we don't need two creative servers. The Minigames Server has a similar logic; there is no current need for two servers with the same purpose.
I'd truly appreciate it if, as a staff team and community, we could discuss the purpose of the three survival servers, and make them as dedicated to their purpose as possible. Having too similar servers will confuse guests as they try to pick somewhere to invest in, hoping that they won't need to change servers because they actually would have been happier building on another. As an example, we could make the servers:
- "Survival" (shops, no pvp, flying, protection on anything, mob-arena (I have an idea for a 'survival server mob arena'), communities, love and cuddles)
- "Lawless" (Clans and clan wars, raids, looting, traps, pvp, no godmode, hard difficulty, area protection),
- "Creative" (you know)
- "Minigames" (money-making games, classic mob-arena, team and pvp games, spleef, cool command-block original minigames by me)
I'm all ears to arguments towards keeping the classic server or against other ideas I've stated. If something is unclear, let me know and I'll elaborate.
A question that prospective console purchasers will ask many times over the next few years is which is the better console, the Sony PlayStation 4 or the Microsoft Xbox One? In this article we take a look at the technical details of each console and compare them against each other.
PS4 v Xbox One - CPU
At the heart of any gaming console is its processor. It is responsible for the raw power of the unit, whilst also linking all of the other components such RAM, hard disk drive, graphics chip and optical drive together.
The PS4 and Xbox One use very similar CPUs, both using the Jaguar architecture made by AMD and consisting of two quad-core modules giving a total of 8-core units.
The Xbox One runs at 1.75GHz, although it was original specified as 1.6GHz but increased before launch by Microsoft engineers. The PlayStation's processor speed has not been officially released by Sony, although it is said by industry experts to be running at 1.6GHz. Although this is slower than the Xbox, it is a relatively small difference that it is unlikely to provide the Xbox with any noticeable real-world advantage. There is also an indication that the Sony product has a boost feature where the CPU speed can be momentarily increased when CPU intensive demand occurs, although this has not been confirmed by the manufacturer.
A benefit of both consoles using very similar architecture is that producing games for each system doesn't have to be approached from two difference technical perspectives. A title written for the PS4 is free to be ported across to the Xbox One without any major re-engineering. This principle also applies to PC versions of games because the CPU used is a PC derived x86 architecture whilst the graphics processing is also PC based.
Both consoles use an Accelerated Processing Unit (or APU) setup. This system has both the CPU and GPU (graphics processing unit) contained on one chip. These new-generation consoles use AMD's third generation lower power APU architecture.

It's been a while since I made a blogpost. In order to not sound as hostile, I will avoid from quoting (aside from one at the end and statements I made myself) and will not name anybody in this story here. For the past week or so I have been ranting to my fellow staff members about a problem I've had with another server. I used to play on it constantly two years ago, but last year, I was banned from it for apparently having a "hacked client," emphasis on apparently. I had and still have absolutely no recollection of having one at all. Therefore, I made an appeal. Have caution, though. This is much harder than it sounds.
Before I made my ban appeal, I had to find out the format they required for writing one. I found this, and it was quite clear, but on the same page, they went over the reasons you could be banned for and how to appeal them. It makes all the banned people, whether or not they were rightfully banned, feel like monsters and sin committers to the server. THe first two lines of the instructions to appeal begin by "sympathizing" by saying that being banned can be frustrating, especially if you disagree with it. Yeah I felt great when I read this. All I had to do was appeal, I thought. Ha, no way. Below that line I found possible reasons for banishment. Under hacked client, which is what I got stuck with, I heard that it was the worst ban you could get. The author of this post confirmed that they have a custom-made hacking detection plugin that is only set to bypass REI's minimap and other conventional mods that do not create an unfair advantage. Seems as though it is so flawless that any other mod just trips up the system and bans you for hacking. This is just ridiculous. Are they saying that the anti-hack program has never tripped up? NoCheat trips up all the time because of server lag and performance errors. After assuring everybody that there is no way that the hacking program could have made a mistake, the members of the server have the right to declare any appeals regarding having a hacked client unable to be appealed. This is where I became frustrated with server. It definitely wasn't the last time, either. Under that they claimed that "admin bans," which was my type of ban because an admin banned me, are always 100% justified and, and the admins are always right. Therefore, those bans will always stay intact because they are so very worshipped and trusted by the entire staff. Remember this statement for the remainder of my post. It is the entire reason why I am making this in the first place.
I still made the appeal, though. I figure I should try, and the staff seemed to have the common sense that they should try to reply to everyone that tries to get unbanned. So, I made this. Keep in mind this was attempt one:
I was banned for a "hacked client."
My name is commanderAIK and I have not been on this server for months. However, it's frustrating to see me banned. While this sounds like the simple denial of a desperate "UNBANN ME PLEASE," I have absolutely no hacked client at all. Really, I don't know where this came from. There is a report video of me supposedly hacking, however, many people have told me not to worry about this and it was clear that it was his minecraft screen having viewing issues. I had no hacked client then or now.
[i removed the video from this post because it would give away the server's information. It's basically somebody recording me going through server lag and what looks to be me having forcefield. However, it was confirmed by a staff member of the same server at an earlier time that this was not correct and does show proof of me "hacking."]
It's not right. I should not have the privilege of this server taken away because of my innocence. I don't know if this was a mistake or anything, but any consideration on this would be much appreciated.
I can't quote the reply, but it basically said "I personally trust the admin who banned you, and that video shows no relevance whatsoever. Sorry, your account will not be unbanned." The topic was then locked, so I couldn't have made any reply. Not even a "thank you for answering my ban appeal." The fact that they locked the topic (which I believe they do for every appeal when it is replied to) shows that they probably don't really have any proof of anything here, and that they don't want to risk being proven wrong or argued against by the victim. That's my theory.
It didn't bother me as much until my friend asked me to play on the server again. After seeing that I was still banned, I felt like for the sake of both of our enjoyment (of playing together on the server), I should try again. After refreshing my mind and being discouraged by the same page of directions (mind you this was a year later, in fact last week), I made a more sensible appeal that talks about assuming that I could have done something wrong.
Hello staff of **********, thank you for reading my ban appeal. This is really my last resort of getting unbanned on this server. I will try to make my story here as comprehensible as I can, but frankly, I really can't stop thinking that I am the hated and disparaged villain here. Please read further to understand why.
My name on minecraft is commanderAIK. I was banned for a "Hacked Client" on ********** a year ago. You guys will not believe me here, which I have to accept, but I have no recollection of having any hacked clients installed at all (I used to use nodus a while ago for a faction server, but long before I went on ****** I deleted it and went to vanilla client again) [This I actually used to do, but so all you people on JR don't go "WHAT HACKER." I wasn't even aware of JR's existence then]. I posted this:
[link to the previous ban appeal that I recently talked about above here]
After reading the ban appeal directions and the response to my old appeal, and also the fact that it was immediately locked after response, I was frustrated with this server. I was so convinced that you guys were in the wrong. While part of me still believes that (because as I said for my sake I have no recollection of having a hacked client), I will try to adapt to the staff's beliefs. As a member of your server, I have to respect the admin's decisions. If this server's hacking detection truly is flawless, then I clearly did something wrong [Here I assumed the hacking detection caught me and an admin banned me, but I was wrong, as you will see soon].
But the only thing that could have been wrong, in that case, was me having some other kind of mod installed. I only remember having REI's minimap installed, but it's still possible that I could have had some other mod installed for my server at the time and others. However, I hope you can understand that I don't have the perfect recollection of something that was a year ago. However, let's assume that I did have another mod installed, as I said. In that case, then I did not read the rules and deserved to be banned, in which case I owe an apology for doing so. Back in those days I really only played ********* for the casual ********* with my friends and it wasn't my main server at the time, which means I most likely missed the part that compelled me to check my mods folder to see if I had anything installed that wasn't minimap or optifine. In this case, I regret my decisions to not read the rules as carefully and sincerly apologize for that.
It's really my last resort here, as I said. No, I don't have any evidential proof, but how would I be able to provide proof anyway? As well as being from a year ago, taking a screenshot of my client without mods certainly wouldn't help, because I could have easily uninstalled my "mods or hacks" for the sake of the screenshot and then re-installed them again after. I know I shouldn't write anything irrelevant here, but I decided to appeal here after my friend wanted to play ***** with me. I figured for both of our enjoyment, I would make one last try to play on this server.
Also, I do have to make one plea here. If it is not in the staff's format to respond to ban appeals, I would appreciate it if this topic weren't instantly locked as the first one was. I may need the chance to make another argument, and even if I was to just say "okay, thank you for reading my ban appeal and while it wasn't the outcome I wished for, I appreciate your time," I formerly found it, once again, to make me feel like an awful villain, which is probably only because I am not trusted, but you get the idea. I definitely could have been the villain.
It's not the best ban appeal and it's got holes in it. Long story short, I am apologizing for something I shouldn't have done. I agree, my last appeal was complete denial, but I tried to open up a bit here. If I am unbanned, I will without doubt reread the rules and ensure that I do not make the same mistake.
Happy Halloween guys, and thank you for reading this.
This appeal wasn't directly replied to, because two days later it was recommended that I make one more story side. So, I did just that and made it clear for them to acknowledge this ^^^ one along with it. I really can't tell if they did. Anyway, I made this one as well to add on.
I apologize for making yet another ban appeal, but consider this an addition of information from the previous "my reban appeal [the appeal I last made that I recently talked about]" This is more story wide and somebody recommended I give you this information.
The last huge thing I remember doing on this server was after a few months (last summer of 2013) of playing *********, I found a group on the **** server and played there for a while. Soon after, I went to camp, deeming me inactive for a month, and then returned to find the ***** servers were restarted. So basically, I gathered my ****** friends and just played League of Legends. This is where I started to grow out of my minecraft interest. I don't play minecraft that much anymore, but that summer, around august, I remember going on it and getting banned. The ONLY suspicion of me "hacking" was this (was one of the only *** games I played, and as seen in my very first post): This was considered useless last time I posted this for some video proof, but I figured I should make this a recap of everything I did relevant to my ban.
[Here I posted the same "irrelevant" video]
I was pretty freaked out by this so I posted this:
[This was a forum post before I was banned asking whether or not this might lead to the suspicion of me hacking. I was told that I shouldn't worry and unless I really did something wrong (which I didn't in the cast of having a hacked client), then I shouldn't worry]
So as you can see I was pretty calmed down after that and before I was banned I remember playing ****** with my friend for a few times only. However then around late august last year, I was banned. I don't even know who [the name of the admin who banned me] is. S/he seems like a very trusted admin but I have never even talked to him/her before. I really don't think it's right for admins to ban people by simply watching the player's entity and making a decision off of that, so I assume the hacking detection system was catching me from something I was doing. But the reason why I'm so persistent with this at the moment is because not only was doing something offensive not my intention, but I still have no idea what really happened. If somebody were to tell me exactly what I was doing that got me banned, I would be much more understanding. Simply: for what "hack" was I banned for? What exactly am I being accused of?
Please acknowledge this appeal along with the "reban" appeal I made on Friday. Once again, thank you all for your time and I hope we can come to some understanding eventually.
It took the staff one week to reply to my ban appeal, and this is all it said:
"You were not banned by our nocheat system. You were banned, by one of our most experienced and trusted admins, and I'm sorry, but the ban will not be revoked. Appeal denied."
As you can see, they almost literally copy/pasted their last response and left it at that. I practically wrote two essays and I get a sentence back. I almost have no doubt in saying they quickly skimmed both of them, or at least the first one.
It's just outrageous. They have shown me no proof and I feel like they expect me to give valid proof. Well for one if I didn't do anything then I can't prove I wasn't doing anything, and how in the world am I supposed to prove that I don't have a hacked client?
The moral of this story goes to JR directly. We need to make sure we take EVERY ban appeal and EVERY question into consideration and simply, just put ourselves in the victim's shoes. Whether they are innocent or griefed 10000 blocks, think about what they are trying to do. Think about the effort they put in to get back on this server and apply it to our responses to them. Whether we deny appeals or not, we should return the favor, if they made an effort, and reply in a civilized manner giving reasons for our actions besides trust. Maybe ask some follow up questions. We should not solely use personal trust as a justification for banning anybody.
Thanks to @troll or @MineDr, this problem has been indirectly solved (thanks man!), so I can play on this server again, but I wish things could have been easier.
So, I was on minechat last night and I decided to fall asleep. Frosty the snowman was online as well as earl95s, frosty wondered weather I fell asleep once, then after a while he kicked me with the caption "sleep well puppy" and guess what, I come back the next morning I come on minechat and look at this I got gold star! Thanks frosty your the mvp!
(Kinda based of of Chris' post in my topic) there once was a friend to all and to this day is my friend, and he had a heart of gold I never told him this, but I started to call him lion in my head instead of a snowman, he has a heart of gold, a big reputation and is known by all, many of them know and love him, but he already knows this, but we all love him so much we dedicated a week to him! #whoisit?

My blog page is up and my first blog has been published so check it out. Original post
Watch Dogs pre-order bonuses (it confuses me too)
Pre-Order bonuses pretty much benefit everyone involved, outside the gamer.
Developers and Publishers benefit since, well, people are buying the game before it is even released. For a AAA game succeed today, how much hype is built prior to release is about as important as the development itself. Naturally, most great games get loads of hype regardless, but there are many who have dropped far below what anyone was expecting, and much of the hype was built by those who created it.
Battlefield 4 is an excellent example of the hype that is built, with pre-orders through the roof. The game looked great at E3 and having played the demo, I was fully expecting it to be one of the best Battlefields yet. I even pre-ordered a limited edition because I wanted it that bad, then came the release with 90% of players experiencing gamebreaking problems, which continue to this day 8 or 9 months later. Aliens: Colonial Marines is another great example, with people expecting great things after an excellent E3 demo they had the year before release. Loads of people were pre-ordering and was one of the most anticipated games that year, but again, the game was a horrible mess on release and even worse, was nothing like the demo shown at E3.
Of course, most developers and publishers are not like that, but still do Pre-Order bonuses to help boost sales. I would even say that many developers feel pressured to do pre-order bonuses. For example, 4A Games 'full' version of Metro: Last light (published by Koch Media) did not have 'Ranger Mode' , but instead had it as $5 DLC that you get for free if you pre-order the game. Of course this did not go down well with the gaming community as this is, as they have said, "the way it was meant to be played", which is very much true as 'Ranger Mode' is a great survival mode, that in Metro 2033 was very much loved by the players. This was not a well thought out decision as they clearly did not prepare anything for it and rather on a whim used the mode for that purpose. If pre-order bonuses were not used as often as they were at the time, I doubt 4A would have even thought about it and released it fully. (ps. The game is great and I love it, do definitely check it out, especially if you can get it cheap).
Alien: Isolation pre-order DLC bonuses
Of course, most of us know who benefit the most out of this, and that is Gamestop. Not many other retailers promote pre-order DLC as hard as they do, and even recently said they would like to help FUND developers to make DLC specifically for pre-order! They make the large majority of these sales and with many games coming back which they can sell and profit off through 'used games' as all profit is theirs, and like I said above, developers and publishers have their own reasons for doing it.
Pre-order DLC is not something that will go away, and in fact is only going to get worse. It is hard to find a AAA game that is not offering something for you commit early, and sometimes the consumer suffers for it. If there is money to be made, then it will become common business practice and something that we will have no choice but to put up with in the long run and we will continue to to buy it because we might not have much choice to if we want to play that game. Even I, who condemn pre-order dlc, has pre-ordered Dragon Age Inquisition and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor because they look amazing to me and I need to have them (I buy a huge amount of games too).
I am sure many of you have differing opinions on this, so please share them and give reasons as to why you think that.
Note: This is my first large enough blog, so if you have any suggestions for me to improve it, let me know (in a constructive manner)! I am doing this mostly to improve my writing skills and the better it is for you, the better it is for me.

Is it me, or is the change from "Premium" to "Gold Star" just bad?
Im serious. I don't like that change.
It makes me not want to buy it.
Premium sounded oh so much better.
But "Gold Star" just sounds...
The word I am thinking probably would not be allowed on the forum, so I'm not gunna say it...
(You're welcome, admins and children)
But, anyway, I think the rank name should be changed back to premium.
"Gold Star" sounds like something lesser than the old name.
I enjoy the other changes to JR, but this, is one I hate.
Look, I love JR, and everything else about it. But I think I should speak my mind about this.
If you don't change it back, its fine with me, its just a suggestion.
I just thought I'd put that out there.

It's time for another me blog!
So this one isn't a normal me one actually, it isn't me fuming, it isn't me bragging. This one is me reflecting on how decisions can completely change everything.
One thing goes back to December, about a week and a half before the new year. I'd been talking to this girl who I'd been friends with for a while then, but we'd been talking a couple months. During my trip to Paris/Lisbon I talked to her every night (over Facebook) until like 2 am Paris time (9 pm NY time, where she was.) I also made it a point to get her a poster of the skyline from on top of the Arc de Triumph. So to the point: a couple of days before Christmas break we were walking down the hall alone and I went, "Do you want to go out with me?"
Now that I think on this I realize I went about it way wrong. I was too vague as I realized by her response, "Like on a date or out with you?"
And again I made the mistake of a vague response "Umm.. Both." Now to this she said, "Sure!" Smile and all, but then a bit later texts me saying how she actually needed to think since I surprised her.
The rest of the story is unnecessary for the purpose of what I'm getting at but the result of that was it was a no, but very close to being a yes. So now where I am I have been thinking on how would things be different if I'd gone about things differently, or if she'd responded differently.
Fast forward to 3 months ago. I'm debating on who to take to prom which is about 2 months from then. If the girl (let's call her Kat (I don't want to write her actual name for obvious reasons)) had said yes, I most likely wouldn't have any question on who to ask. But where I was I had about 4 choices to try and ask: her, 2 friends in the grade below, or a girl my friend had introduced me to who I'd been talking to casually. I asked the girl my friend introduced me to since he knew I needed a date.
What I'm saying here is that I wouldn't have met her if Kat had said yes, thereby I'd be down a pretty good friend right now.
But this theory doesn't just apply to girls/boys. This applies to anything really such as tests or video games. On a test if you aren't 100% sure on an answer so you guess, and another question similar to that one pops up, you're likely to answer with a similar answer, or as similar as you can get (whether it be based on the formula you use, or the vocab you see) which either leads to you getting two questions right or two questions wrong.
In video games this is seen ALL THE TIME. Whether it be in a game where you the choices effect the rest of the game, or if it's multiplayer. Let me make an example of the game I've been spending my time playing primarily: League of Legends.
What happened was we had slain all but two of the enemy team, who were left at about half health, and were the support and the jungle, who mind you had no mana. So we came down to a choice: shove the inhib turret and maybe inhibitor, or go for Baron Nashor. I personally said we should go for turret due to the longer term game impact, as well as our 5/4 to 2 advantage, but the team believed Baron was more important. After this the game lasted another 35 minutes, with us narrowly scraping up the win.
So if we'd taken our other choice, where would that game have ended up? Would we have won sooner? Would we have lost? It's impossible to know.
I suppose what I'm saying is that since you'll never know what the alternate reaction to your choice is, believe in what you chose because for all you know, what you did get is better then what would've come by the other choice. Don't regret your choices because they make you who you are. Oh it's okay to regret your choice if you have a 50/50 chance of winning something amazing by calling like the left door when the car is in the right door.
When it comes to women don't be vague.
Don't regret choices they make you who you are.
Unless you choose the left door when the car is behind the right door.
Well there's my little rant :3 I've been thinking about this stuff a lot and just wanted to write about it.
P.S. I'm probably gonna write another soon when graduation happens about forgetting people and such.
P.P.S. I'm gonna proof read this when I'm on my computer, typed this on my iPod in notes during a 6 hour car ride.

I realize that it has been a while since I last played, but seriously; What has happened to JR? I played for about 3-4 hours today and not once was there more than 6 people. I was on the RPG server and there wasn't more than 5 people there the entire time. At one point, for about and hour or so, there was only me and an AFK Frosty. Is the server, simply, more active at different time (I played from 6ish to 9ish pm EST)? Is the server simply just on a decline? If anyone has any insight please let me know below because, frankly, I am concerned. This server has always been one that I enjoy playing on and I would be fairly sad if this server went down the drain, like oh so many others do. Again please let me know if you know anything about this lack of players.

When I'm 18 I plan to visit: Scotland, Ireland, Oregon, Canada and Sweden. Why Paris isn't on here is because I have no interest in going there even though I am a girl. I have no interests in finding love life there. One day I also hope to help JR more than I am now.( this sounds cheesy, believe me I know.)

the following is the story of my trip to the USA, and what I though about the place
to get to the USA we boarded a plane in Dublin were we landed 7 hour's later in New York but as they are 6 hour's behind it only actually took 1 hour, in New York we mainly walked around the large city of which was set out in a grid but despite this ordered arrangement new York was very hard to navigate through and all since of direction appeared lost which is odd as in non-ordered cities in the UK, the first time walking around them is done easily.
in new York we where mainly there to see the famous building's, and place's like the empire state building and central park, whilst in the empire state building i bought a pocket watch of which I found rather nice
we also went to several restaurant's such as the steak and stack of which make the best burger's I have ever tasted and we also ate at a subway of which was perhaps the best sub I have ever had.
New York was very hot, with some day's being over 30 degree's Celsius all the time, and yet this never seem's to be seen in any movie's based in the city, were we where staying in Manhattan. I was also amazed to see so many different type's of people in this one area,
but as we moved out to ''Amish'' country the population appeared to become less diverse the Amish are defined as people's who do not have electric, have never used a PC and down drive are use machinery, therefore I can say it's all lie's sure some go about in there horse and cart but they also go about in there car's, and use farming machinery and have fridge's and electric and have PC's and the internet and over charge everything and don't like answering question's, despite being famed for hospitality's and corporation
so therefore it is fair to say these people are basically people who are just there to increase tourism, although they do have very funny name's for place's such as the town of ''intercourse'' and the school of ''leacock'' both real place's
we then went on to Washington D.C in the capital were we stayed at a nice hotel called the capital Hilton which over looked the rather smaller than I imaged it white house, we saw many thing's whilst in Washington such as the ''senate'', the ''pointy structure'' and the Abraham memorial, it was very hot that day also and make's me wonder how american's do any work at all, and why so little have swimming pool's.
america supposedly has a very obese population, but in all my time there I didn't actually see that many people that where over weight which appear's to me yet another myth about america busted, despite the recession america actually looked rather good with industry being built and infrastructure being improved. although the area known as ''Gary's town'' was very rough and dangerous with only the poorest resident's still living there, it reminded me of a person called Gary I know, this to me is his town.
we finally stopped off in Chicago where we saw many building's such as the sear's tower and we had the best steak I have ever placed upon my tongue it was delicious and we ate it along the river front and then we went to the wedding of one of my cousin's of which was much more lively than most northern Ireland wedding's I have been to.
the driving in america is terrible no one seem's to know how to actually drive and no one appear's to have any manner's whilst on the road compared to driver's back at home although there driving test is a lot simpler, just show up and you pass
to sum up what I thought of america I would have to say it's the culture of Europe for the people of the world and is strangely a nice place if you aren't having to continuously travel
