Cool base locations on ark: valguero

Recommended Posts

I figured it would be useful to have a guide when it comes to building locations on the new map Valguero, however this does not mean that I've fully explored the whole map. There might still be cool area which I've yet to come across. Some of these area I heard of from others, some I found online and others I've come across by accident while exploring the map looking for resource & animal locations.

To start off, the best Spawn Location is Small Islands, the reason being that it's considered as a Herbivore island, with basic resources to start off and relatively safe from any raptors or other carnivores which is known to roam other spawning locations. All Spawn Locations can be found below:

Base Location 1 - Estimated Coordinates are 85 Lat 86 Lon

This area is quite large, easily accessible with plenty of resources around. Few carnivores around and if you're using this area you shouldn't get bothered by them. There's plenty of room for those who would like to add to the current structure and expand outwards.

Base Location 2 - Estimated Coordinates are 81 Lat 80 Lon

This area is practically an open cave. There's resources all around, good flat area to build on, covered from at least 3 sides including above you, it is easy to access, however Carnos, Allos & Raptors are seen in the vicinity..

Base Location 3 - Estimated Coordinates are 79 Lat 82 Lon

This is a nice flat island surrounded by cliffs & waterfalls on 3 sides. There is a decent amount of basic resources, relatively safe although some carnivores can be spotted around the area. For those with imagination, there's a lot of possibilities and opportunities to expand this area. Dino wise, there are only two narrow areas to pass from or dropping from above which will end up in the water.

Base Location 4 - Estimated Coordinates are 79 Lat 66 Lon

This area is only accessible with flyers. It is relatively safe with a rare spawn of a raptor among other herbivores. Nice are to build in, flat and surrounded by water, however dinos can drop from above which will practically land on or inside your base. There's very few resources inside but can be found close by once you get out of the hole.

Base Location 5 - Estimated Coordinates are 62 Lat 11 Lon

For those who have seen Lord of the Rings before, I consider this area as Helm's Deep. This can be accessed from 2 areas which can easily be closed off by putting gates. There's enough room inside to build a good base and plenty of room outside to store some dinos around. On the left side there's water supply with enough room for a green house & a large tree for platform & tree sap. Outside the area plenty of terror birds have been seen however it is easy and possible to expand further. Basic Resources are abundant, metal, crystal and other resources I've yet to look around more.

Base Location 6 - Estimated Coordinates are 46 Lat 87 Lon

This area is found close to the swamp, and it is a bit annoying to reach, however it is quite safe. The only visible issue is the lack of space for those who enjoy building large bases. There's plenty of resources including a couple of metal nodes as well. Quite easy to close of and enough room to store dinos and build a decent base.

Base Location 7 - Estimated Coordinates are 37 Lat 81 Lon

A small area which is easily protected from other wild dinos. Although there is not enough room to build a whole lot, it is an easy location from where to expand further around. accessible only by the 2 bridges, plenty of water around, crystal can be found close by and enough room to build a small base and store a couple of dinos. Area around is quite flat with room for expansion.

Base Location 8 - Estimated Coordinates are 37 Lat 90 Lon

This large Castle is quite safe. No aggressive dinos have been seen around the area. It is accessible either by flyers or a cave like entrance below the bridge, however only small dinos can pass through, other dinos need to be carried or teleported to the castle. There are plenty of rooms and floors to build in and any holes can be covered up or used as an extra entrance to the castle. Not a whole lot of room for large dinos & metal nodes are yet to be found, however it's a good location for those who like a challenge as there's room for improvement and expansion.

Base Location 9 -Estimated Coordinates are 63 Lat 50 Lon

This is personally my favorite area to build in especially in PVE. There's a very large flat area for those who like to build large structures, considerably safe as barely any carnivores have been seen in this location. Easy access to water with enough room for water dinos as well. Easy to close off and protect from wild dinos. Plenty of resources around. Metal & Crystal are close by, especially with a flyer.

Base Location 10 - Estimated Coordinates are 76 Lat 48 Lon

This location has plenty of resources and the trees around can be easily used to build platforms and link them together for further space. the castle can be fixed leaving enough room to build a small starting area. There's also enough room around to expand a bit more as well. Basic resources are abundant however it is a bit dangerous as carnos and troodons have been seen in the area.

Other cool Locations for those who enjoy building inside caves:

First Cave - Estimates Coordinates are 37 Lat 90 Lon

I've looked around and even though it has two entrances I couldn't find a walk way to this cave. As far as I know it is only accessible by a flyer, however there's plenty of room inside and both entrances can be closed off if desired. Basic resources in the area are abundant.

The inside of the cave:

Second Cave - Estimated Coordinates are 33 Lat 10 Lon

There are 2 entrances to this cave , both are found behind the waterfall. one at the bottom of the cliff the other at the top. There's plenty of room to build on the outside and a huge area to build on the inside. The cave itself has a lot of metal nodes rock nodes and crystal, on the outside there's a decent amount of wood. Slightly dangerous to start off but can be easily closed off and defended from wild dinos. Inside the cave you have access to the deep water with plenty of room for waters dinos & breeding as well. The water area seems safe however I haven't been able to explore that further as it's huge. So far my favorite cave to build in as you have almost access to everything with enough room to build large buildings.

Feel free to let me know if you've found better locations.

Thanks & hope this helps. The below is a location of a farm if anyone is looking for free access to potatoes and carrots.

Estimated Coordinates are 55 Lat 50 Lon

Feel free to do so. I still need to check the areas in more detail especially resource wise. The area you are in looks good just didn't see any metal/crystal. Water wise although it sucks you can always make a pen in the ocean. I'm going for location 9. Since i enjoy building and what not i figured there's enough room plus all resources are close by especially if you've got a fast argy with decent weight.

Yeh that's kinda why I'm not sure if I should go there or no.. I really like to build close to water and the ocean. Might go for another spot tbh even tho I love the ruins. Location 9 is perfect for builders!
