Torchlight - Abit like Diablo

By Guest, in PC Reviews,

Heya everyone.

(Please note that this is my first ever review of a game! Actually my first review of anything at all!
so please let me know what you think about it, and what i could do better!)

Recently (yesterday >_<) i began playing a game called Torchlight.
It reminds me a whole lot about Diablo II, and it got a load of similar features, you could
call it a "Diablo Clone" i guess. Most "Cloned" games usually suck, like all thoes F2P(Free to play) MMO's thats out there, they got bad graphics, weird controls, not the best content, and are mostly just a really bad "clones".

But with Torchlight this is not the case. The game is actually really entertaining so far!

-Randomly generated levels, no more walking through the same area over and over and over.. Its all random! WIN!

-It got a nice and easy understandable UI (User Interface)

-It got "Cartoonish" graphics like WoW does, and i like that.

-The sounds is usually really good, except for speech, i would like to have it fully voiced.

-Its easy to begin playing, the controls is good, and it mostly feels like it should.

-You can sell items from anywhere(a few exceptions). You got a dog/cat/other pet which got a backpack too. You can give your leftover items to the pet, and send it to the town to sell all the items! (There is a "delay" on this, it will take X seconds/minutes for the pet to sell the items, depending on where you are in the game.

-Limited number of skills. So far i have only played one character, the "Destroyer", but i dont find too many useful skills that i can choose between. But its still good!

-You can enchant ALL your equipment by simply talking to a NPC in the town, he will do this for an amount of gold depending on the item level and previous enchantments. This feature is unbalanced in my opinion. You can enchant the same items as many times as you want to, each with a slight increasing chance to disenchant the item. This makes it possible to make extremely powerful weapons and other gear. An example here: I used around 5k gold to enchant an item, after a few enchants it went from 200DPS to 370 DPS. That is nearly 2x its previous power for some useless gold :/ (DPS is also known as Damage Per Second)

I would give this game a overall of 8/10

Here is a gameplay clip from the game that i made.
Its recorded with overwolf, so the graphics isnt the best in the video (Was too lazy to setup Fraps o.o)

Powder Toy

By Guest, in Multi-Platform Reviews,

Powder toy is a sandbox game created by HARDWIRE. Powder Toy is were there is no limits to imagination. This small download for pc and (recently) mac, gets you to use your mind for something that can be explosively, unbelievably, satisfying-ly cool.

The controls for this game are real basic, because it's just your mouse. With the mouse you just click on an element on the side of the screen and then just in the centre were the element will be placed. It doesn't matter which elements you choose and when, where and why you placed them, it's all to your hearts content. With 150 elements and more to choose from, there is a whole lot of discovering ahead of you. As you become more familiar with the elements, you then accustom your keyboard into the mix.

This game also has different kinds of features like changing the display like the 'fire display' which puts emphasis on objects on fire and 'alternate velocity display'. There is also a pressure and temperature feature which put more depth into when one element reacts with another. Just to other features there are heat simulation, ambient heat simulation, newtonian gravity, water equalisation test and fullscreen.

For more depth in the game visit the simulation gallery. This shows other users latest creations. You may think you might be good, but they know what there doing! An example is this this guy created a launch able rocket, with cars and helicopters, were the best I can do is make a flame thrower!

Powder Toy is more than other science and physics sandbox games. It is more than just watching stuff explode, this can be a serious creativity application that allows you to build machines, independent environments and art. You can think of yourself as a god, with powers that can never end!

Tomb Raider Anniversary

By Guest, in Multi-Platform Reviews,

The adventure begins when Lara its hired by a powerful company to recover the object known as Scion. While Lara searches old tombs y desolated worlds, discovers that shes not alone. Not only she woken up the guards, else theres other in the search of the object.
This game celebrates 10 years of Tombr Raider and Lara Croft, this new adventure its inspired in the original Tomb Raider.

This its a really good game, it has the sme engine than tomb raider legend.

Graphics are still amazing, Lara looks incredible real, you can still see every small detail, and the environment works its awesome. You really feel like you are there.

Great gameplay, its basically the same than in Tomb Raider: Legend, easy to understand, easy to play, but some times you will feel like you want to kill her, because she doesnt do what you want (This doesnt change a bit), the camera control was improved, but the problem still persists when the camera changes its angle, instead of jumping to side she ends up jumping backwards and falls into a hole killing herself.
The good thing its that theres a lot of control points too.

Here you can see a lot of improvements, more story, lots and i mean LOTS, of artifacts to grab in the game, but sometimes it can get too hard, to find them, and to discover the secret that opens a door (You will need to find a FAQ to get through this places), not much to kill, a couple of tigers, some mummies, bears and crocodiles. Oh, and i forgot, theres som dinos , some raptors and a T-Rex.The story is really intriguing, and it catches you.

Sounds are good, nice music (gets you in the situation), realistic.

Is a great game with amazing graphics, a great gameplay, that its easy to learn and play, with nice menus, and it has story that can be intriguing, sometimes you can get stucked in some puzzles that prevent you from moving on, sometimes you will need help to solve them. I do recommend it if you like the action/adventure/puzzle games and you like the Tomb Raider Series.(8/10)

Well you may be thinking, What is transformice? Well transformice is a flash game, that is played by 4,000,000 plus registered (active) users in over 5 languages! Well you must of suspected this game is about mice.

Well in this game the objective is very simple. You have to run out collect the cheese and run back to the mouse hole but before the timer runs out. But fortunately there is more to what seems 'boring'. In this time there are obstacles hidden holes, cannon firing at you, anvil gods, gravity switches and more! This may seem difficult, but there are shaman mice to help.

A shaman mouses roll is 1 to help or 2 to troll. A shaman has mythical powers that can conjure objects like cannon, planks, boxes, anvils and more. Which all these objects are used to help the player. Other people find this power to be evil! They conjure up planks for mice to stand on, then fly them off the screen killing them all!

There are many other aspects to this game also like Achievements, bootcamp maps, vanilla, racing, tribes, shop and much much more! With the game having over 250 'Vanilla' Maps and 7000+ User made maps so you know that you can never get tired of the game. And there are also tactics to learn like wall jumping and building the best totems.

The creators have quit there jobs and moved to this game full time, which is always good know that the server is regularly updated, with new objects, maps and etc. The game being based in france there is a massive turn out from english to portuguese to chinese.

Transformice is a brilliant game that can be run on almost any computer (since now flash is used everywhere) It is a lot fun surprisingly even if your friends thinks it's a kiddie game. Whether you are collecting title upon title or waiting to become a shaman it is a game that can never end. What ever you do in the game from troll to helping, it is guaranteed you'll make some friends!

For me personally I have been playing this game for 1 to 1.5 years now, and I am quite high in the ranks! I just love this game and I'll remember it!

Transformice has good graphics, but you can't really tell from small mice figures running about!

I will give this game 8.5/10! This is a must play!

18 Wheels Of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2

By Guest, in PC Reviews,

Actually I'm rather disappointed, not what I expected, I thought the game would improve, but instead it got worse.

The graphics are still the same as the previous version, they have not changed a bit, the same with the sounds and menus.
They have added some new areas and cargos, as well as trucks, the previous driving areas remain unchanged.

The gameplay got worse, the trucks are harder to control, simulation-style, sometimes becomes so complicated that mission must be repeated 4 or 5 times, because trucks will fall into a ravine, you get stuck on the side of the road, hit a tree, etc. Making it really frustrating.

Expected something different from their creators, something better than Extreme Trucker. If you already tried 18 WOS: Extreme Trucker, there is no point trying this one(5 / 10)
