    (sry for the wall of txt this turned out to be) I'm pretty sure I'm one of the reasons for this topic. With that said I joined here with full knowledge of the settings and mods. I've been voicing my opinions when new mods and tweaks have been suggested. All of wich would make the server way to easy. So I do not mind the settings of today, except maybe the x25 maturation. That will eventually get us so many creatures that the lag will be horrible. IMHO, lower this to about half and instead increase hatching to about the same. Same total time but less time wasted on watching a hatching timer go down. Even though its no problem just dropping the egg while you are doing whatever in Ark, then pick it up close to hatching and put it down again when ready for maturation. Some of my thoughts in the matter in general. - Jamie, you say " upping the difficulty ". Do you by that mean the setting in the .ini file? If so, that only raises the lvls on creatures and makes them take more time to tranq and longer to tame so it will eventually raise questions from community for better tranq's. Back to square one then. Same settings as today and lvl 600 creatures would make life more dangerous, and taming the perfect one would need some planning. - The talk about whitelist: No server should ever be without S+. And in my personal opinion Automated ark should also be there.. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=812655342 It only takes away the tedious everyday work. Doesnt really makes things easier, it just lets the player conentrate of the world around him/her instead of having to collect poop..... Settings should be something like x2 times official (x4 vanilla that is). maybe x5 on hatching/maturation. Wild creature damage upped by 20% or so. Player lvl maybe 150-200 (It's a must to be able to get all engrams solo, could be done with extra ponts or lvls) and creature 300-500. If Pvp then ORP is a must..     Sorry,I did not explain properly. To breed a good line of creatures you will need to tame several high/max level potential parents to find the good stats. This part is what usually takes most time in the whole breeding process. On top of that we already have hatching set to x4 and maturation to x25?! So the maturation process is already 25 times faster than vanilla. Do we seriously need it faster than that? For example:With current rates a Quetz takes 44 minutes to reach juvenile. Then you can leave it to eat from the feeding troughs for the remaining 7 hours and 45 minutes. A Rex takes 22 minutes. An argy 13 minutes. To slow?? Really.... Note that I havent tried yet myself but taken the rates from here Shin
  6. Do think I have mentioned something along this lines recently Shin And must add something to my thoughts here.Have a "permanent" cluster of 2-3 maps. Add a tryout map that changes every month or 2. Have a poll to keep or cycle the maps at the same time intervall. And make sure the poll is changed to a minimum of voting players. Right now we have roughly 6-7 players that decide as a "community". 1 changes from time to time cause it is the one suggesting. Shin

    We have taming sedative. That will tame any 150 lvl in minutes. Sure it s availabe first at lvl 35 or so (correct me if I'm wrong). But the suggestions here and the direction this server is taking is worrying to me personally. It was advertised as a moderattly modded server with rates that was still challenging. The direction now is the opposite!.I've already seen leading players leave cause of this, I'm sticking around for now at least but I really do have serious doubts. So, either stick with what was advertised or go the way most other servers do. No challenge at all. You cant do it both ways and you cant make everyone happy. Decide what kind of servers that you want and stick to that. Do not gradually change from one setup to another. Psycho I think it was who made a post about the voting. Whoever it was is totally right anyway. There is only like 7 players in total voting. So whatever is voted on is not really a reflection of the community. But then again, not my place to say how to run this. Respectfully Shin

    Very interesting view from an admin. If I understand correctly you say, " get what all new players want as long as they are not to big" I have one very serious question to you. How many hours do you have in this game?. ARK that is. Shin

    Please. Anyone give me one good reason why this is needed. So many ways to kill yoursell in vanilla even and you want this to add to the load of your game? We dont even have pefinder, but a suicide potion is needed... I can suggest 25-30 mods that everyone will like and vote for, will they be added then? I would propose a max amount of mods... a new one in means an old one out.. In my very personal opinion all mods needed on any ARK server is S+ and Autmated ark. Shin

    I agrre with OP, there can be to many mods. And is not the server that is usually the problem. It's the client side that lags down. Mods tend to eat RAM, load times gets way longer, game lags, timeout disconnects. So people like me, the casual gamer, that does not have the latest in GPU and RAM will get problems. What I think is important is the choice of mods. I've seen a lot of severs with mods doing more or less the same thing. And as for the meatspoiler. Really redundant since they added the "split all" option in the inventory. Shin

  13. Hi all New player/member here. Been on ARK Ragnarok server for a few days and it seems very dead. Its been only me and noone else. All bases I've seen can be demolished. So my question here is.... Is there any point at all playing ARK in this community? Any life on any map? Shin

    The only game I play here is ARK. There is sooo many things you can do there but as always they take time from admins. Many videos on the tube about it. Examples are. Dodo Toss: Build a "dartboard" and a platform next to it. Toss your dodos to get ponts. Races: Make races with specific creatures. Just from pont A to B or over a specified/marked track. PvP Races: Same as above but enable PvP during the race so you can stop your opponents Arena fights: Last man standing or one on one. Set a specific area for the fight/build an arena/get one of the mods. Mazes: Build one yourself or get the monkey maze mod to help out. This is just what pops up right now, sure I remember more if I think about it. Shin
  15. Dead ark servers?

    First I want to make clear I'm not complaining or anything. Some people tell me a sound like a grumpy old man when I write in english.. Just trying to find a somewhat permanent home and low population quite often leads to server shutdown or huge changes in settings/mods. Been doing ARK for 3,5K hours so far and don't plan of stopping this close to final release. Anyways, I was ingame all saturday/sunday between about 06.00 and 22:00 UTC+1. And I'm on some hours every weekday between like 18:00 and 22:00. (might sound like a lot but many hours is afk while taming) Pretty much alone the whole time. But I dis see that there has been a lot of new players since tha announcment of Ragnarok becoming official DLC. So, I'll stay for now and hope the community grows. I like trading Shin
