  5. Whether I'm working on something over a long period of time, playing games, just relaxing, or even going to bed, podcasts are one of my go to listening choices. What are some of your favourite podcasts and what are they about? Also post a Youtube/Soundcloud link so we can here it also! Here's some of mine. Rooster Teeth Podcast: Sometimes touches on games, but most of the time it's talking about their week, things they have been up to, and random crap that has happened to them before. Regularly tell a story they've told before, but whats to be expected after 422 weekly episodes! Mostly has people who also work at Rooster Teeth but sometimes has special guests. Always Open (Also hosted by Rooster Teeth): Essentially the female version of the rooster teeth podcast, but with cocktails, more dirty humor and your primary source of Barbara's puns. Also, where else on the internet would you have the beautiful Jessica Nigri talking about her steamed panties??? Maybe her Facebook page.... but here too! Again, mostly has people who also work at Rooster Teeth but sometimes has special guests. The Co-Optional Podcast: They mostly talk about video games. Favourite podcast on the interwebs! Hosted by Total Biscuit, with Jessie Cox and Dodger as well as a special guest (who is regularly WoWCrendor or Sam Strippin). Lots of lols, weekly, and 3 hours long. Primary source of Dodger eating, Jessie Cox bitching about Square Enix/Blizzard, and Total Biscuit ignoring both of them.
  6. Good evening fellow Survivors and Adventurers of the interwebsTonight I am writing about a game in which I've currently spent 145 hours venturing far and wide in a prehistoric world after being stranded on an island inhabited by history's most interesting yet horrifying and largest family of Predator / Prey to walk the earth we know so well As the title says I am speaking about ARK: Survival Evolved Ark: Survival Evolved is an action-adventure survival game that uses a first person perspective, with the ability to use a third person perspective depending on player preference and choice. The Goal of the Game is to survive, and to do this players must establish a base, make friend or foe and use the thermal system to their advantage by creating fire's and clothes to protect them from the Brisk temperatures of the dark and rainy nights whilst also taking advantage of the rainy cycles and rivers / Oceans of the island to maintain their hydration The game itself also offers additional activities, such as taming and feeding the beasts that roam the worlds map which is also known as the "Ark". The Ark is approximately 48 square kilometers in size which totals up to approximately 36 square kilometers of land mass, with 12 square kilometers of ocean. To build a base, players must gain structure components—such as floors, doors and windows—which are earned as they progress and gain levels. These components can be crafted, and placed in the world. Players can create any structure, as long as they have the logistics and resources; the structural integrity of the building is compromised when the pillars and foundations are destroyed. Players can also craft items in the game, such as weapons, which can be achieved by collecting the resources and technology required for crafting. In addition, players can craft and attach accessories to their weapons, such as a scope or flashlight for a pistol or machine gun. Should players take damage, their health meter will gradually regenerate if they have consumed the necessary food, or if they craft items that regenerate the health meter at a faster pace. There are sixty types of dinosaurs in the game. The dinosaurs in the game can be tamed by feeding it food. Once a dinosaur is tamed, players have access to the dinosaur's abilities, such as flight or fast underwater / land movement, as well as its statistics, such as speed, health and damage. When the access to these abilities are gained, players lose control of their personal weapons but gain control of a much larger and more destructive weapon (that being their beast of choice) So what will you do? "Remember you don't have to run fast, Just faster than your friends"
  7. Hey guys. As you know, I am making my return to the website after my hiatus (unlike System of a Down (*sobs*)) due to the attention I have given to college. I will not have the time for Minecraft however, but the staff team have been great to keep it running and trust that they will continue to do so. Most of my college time, was obviously spend doing college work. I'm now going into 3rd year of my Computing with Games Development course, which, in Ireland, has one of the highest Dropout/Fail rates in any college. I think this is mostly due to people coming in thinking just because they like games, they can make them, and end up doing nothing all year because they only then find out its too hard for them (Joys of only needing 200 CAO points). This does not mean it is not exceptionally difficult, but thanks to my friends and my own hard work, I am pulling through fairly well now. Before I go into 3rd year however, I must pass a few repeat exams due to me getting lazy 3rd semester in Object Oriented Programming 2, Networking fundamentals and Games Development. But, thanks to having more work put in on the more advanced modules in 4th semester, OOP2 and networking will be no problem, and can definitely get around Games Dev after the project I gave (Coded an AI behavior system), only having to worry about passing the exam. Even with the work I have put in last semester, I have found the time to write for 4-One Gaming over the last 7-8 months. 4-One Gaming a Fanboy free gaming news page on Facebook, which Myself and the team (Jorn, Matt, Kat and Paddy) hope to turn into a website, with a friendly, mature and informed community. Naturally, with the work I have put in here, I will like to have a good relationship between both 4-One and JR once the site is up and running. Give us a like if you are looking for regular gaming news in a friendly environment, regardless of platform! I have also started work on a blogging webpage called "Addicted to Kevin". At the moment it is only using Weebly, but it is a start, and hopefully have it up and running for tomorrow evening. I am also considering creating a Facebook page (not a profile (don't want strangers asking for friend requests)) for myself, but I don't know because I think it is too arrogant as of yet to class myself as a "Public Figure", even though it will benefit the page in the long run. Regardless, the Blog is going ahead and below is a screenshot of part of my 'About' page so you will have more of an idea about me, and what the whole reason for me setting up a blog. *** Warning! Some cursing! *** I'll be sharing my blogs from there, here also. As I have said already, I am happy to be getting back into things here! SEE YOU IN THE FORUMS!
  8. Okay, so I just watched the Xbox conference and the Xbox One reveal yesterday and I can't believe what I just watched, and yet I'm not surprised. Every gaming company now is always making the wrong decisions, though it may not be EVERY single gaming company there is today, most ones like EA and MS are messing up their games like there's no tomorrow. They're both corrupted by a lust for money and a greedy team of developers. Most of the Xbox One is focused on TV.. Why? So we can basically watch TV on our TV? Useless I say. Utterly useless. NONE of the damn thing is focused on Gaming, but on TV and other sections of entertainment. Skype=Cool. TV=Eliminates use for TV's, again more ideas for money so people can buy Xbox One's instead of actual TVs themselves. Internet=Eliminates use for computers Also, fees for playing previously owned or preowned games? What the hell is wrong with these people?? I swear to God MS. I'm off.
