  1. Hey everyone, Thought it would be good if we had a thread where we could share the home screens of our phones. I'll start with mine currently using 2 screens, one is called a "shelf" it's a feature exclusive to the OnePlus launcher as far as I can tell and I can just put as many widgets on it as a like.
  2. Two years ago, Apple revealed its iPad under a new name - the iPad Air. For those of you who spotted it, you may have already seen this day coming: Apple’s latest launch event reveals a new iPad, the iPad Pro. The new set of iPad’s falls into line with the naming conventions of Apple’s well known laptop lines. Recently the tablet market seems to be getting closer and closer to laptops, and not just by naming convention, many tablets have been built with pretty much equal computing capabilities to some of the best laptops. The iPad Pro is certainly no exception. As you’d expect, the iPad has a significantly larger 12.9 inch screen - the same size as some of Apple’s Macbooks. That’s not the only thing going for it either, it also will feature the A9X chip, a third generation of Apple’s 64 bit chip. According to techradar, the iPad Pro is 80% faster than comparable portable PC’s on the market, and 90% faster at rendering graphics. Apple will also be selling a detachable keyboard accessory with the iPad - similar to that of Microsoft’s Surface tablet. It appears the hope is that this will appeal to enterprise customers. Interestingly Apple have also opted to sell a new type of stylus, an idea openly mocked by the late founder Steve Jobs. Apple have called this the Apple Pencil, it well sell alongside the iPad for an extra 99$. The iPad Pro is set to cost from 799$ (USD), putting it in a similar price range to it’s main competitor - the Microsoft Surface Pro. 3. Personally I've never been very keen on Apple products, but personal bias aside, there is no denying the iPhone 6 is a good phone. To start with, Apple have finally caught up with the rest of the market in realising people want bigger screens. The standard model is now 4.7inch, making it possible for apps to become less cramped. The case itself is fairly well designed and refreshingly different to the designs we've seen in previous models. My favourite part personally is the camera, whilst it doesn't quite have 4k recording, it does take fantastic pictures and allows you to record in slow motion. Anyone who’s played around with the slow motion recording, will know just how fun it is and I highly recommend you give it a go if you haven’t before! Without a doubt, the worst part of the phone is the price. As many of you Apple users may have come to realise, you pay a significant amount extra simply because of the logo on the back. Whilst the battery is bigger, so is the screen, this means in real terms the battery life hasn't increased that much. Whilst the phone may last longer whilst idle, if you are using the screen the battery life is sure to drain much quicker - meaning the battery life probably isn't that much better than the iPhone 5s. The design has also been criticised for being too slippy, whilst the new design looks great, it’s very smooth and could easily slip out of your hand. With the new design apple could have easily introduced a more ‘grippy’ finish but instead went for something much smoother. Overall the iPhone 6 is a fantastic phone. Whilst it still has a long way to go with battery life, the features of the phone are brilliant and the phone itself is very responsive. Definitely a phone worth buying, at least if you're willing to pay the price tag... Personally I’ll be sticking with my android Sources: http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mobile-phones/iphone-6-1264565/review, http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2015/01/12/best-and-worst-things-about-the-iphone-6
  4. Hi all just wanted to know what you all think about mobile tech. So what do YOU prefer? iPhone or galaxy (or any other of the Samsung phones) I prefer the iPhone less hassle, simplistic and stylish. In the comments if you like you can post why.

  6. Apple’s longtime iPhone partner and carrier in the United States, wireless operator AT&T has confirmed to a technology blog that the next fruit out of Cupertino will be ripe in October. The iPhone 5, expected by millions around the globe to launch this fall alongside iOS 5 and iCloud, has been the hottest topic of discussion for almost half a year now. With WWDC 2011 come and gone, Apple has one more season left to announce new hardware, considering it won’t hold any events around Christmas. So, knowing that iOS 5 and iClous are already scheduled to launch in autumn, how far fetched would it bee to say the iPhone 5 will also announced in the coming months? Source: Softpedia
