Two years ago, Apple revealed its iPad under a new name - the iPad Air. For those of you who spotted it, you may have already seen this day coming: Apple’s latest launch event reveals a new iPad, the iPad Pro. The new set of iPad’s falls into line with the naming conventions of Apple’s well known laptop lines. Recently the tablet market seems to be getting closer and closer to laptops, and not just by naming convention, many tablets have been built with pretty much equal computing capabilities to some of the best laptops. The iPad Pro is certainly no exception. As you’d expect, the iPad has a significantly larger 12.9 inch screen - the same size as some of Apple’s Macbooks. That’s not the only thing going for it either, it also will feature the A9X chip, a third generation of Apple’s 64 bit chip. According to techradar, the iPad Pro is 80% faster than comparable portable PC’s on the market, and 90% faster at rendering graphics. Apple will also be selling a detachable keyboard accessory with the iPad - similar to that of Microsoft’s Surface tablet. It appears the hope is that this will appeal to enterprise customers. Interestingly Apple have also opted to sell a new type of stylus, an idea openly mocked by the late founder Steve Jobs. Apple have called this the Apple Pencil, it well sell alongside the iPad for an extra 99$. The iPad Pro is set to cost from 799$ (USD), putting it in a similar price range to it’s main competitor - the Microsoft Surface Pro.
